“Take
your time...eto ata ‘yung trending sa kanila ngayon...” said Ms. Kris Aquino in
one of her tv show when she was asked why her paintings are still not in
place. She said that the people she ask to frame those paintings are as just
taking their time to design and finish their job, not hurrying for anything.
This was also the thing we wanted to hear from our parents when we ask them if
we can go to a party or form our professors when we need to comply to their
requirements. Take your time ...all the time that you need...but life is too
short. Then we should live your life to the fullest now. But if it was the
nuclear bomb and wars that scares people back then, what would terrify us
nowadays?
Probably
it was natural disasters, things that no creature would be able to stop. No
high technology can ever determine the exact path it would go. No great wall or
expensive infrastructure can withstand its immeasurable power. When it was
nature that started acting to you, there is no way you won’t be affected. In
the Philippines, several natural calamities was bombarded to us by mother
nature. Thousands of lives were lost and millions of assets were destroyed. It
was heart warming to see that many are donating and volunteering to serve the
Yolanda victims and the earthquake victims last year. It was like we are going
back to where we started when humans are just looking for food in the
surrounding and was very vulnerable to all disasters. Back then they have no
modern technologies that may help them to survive these calamities. And as much
as we like to take our time for everything, we just can’t. We have to keep
moving and reflect for some moments o still check if we are still living in the
world we used to know.
