The thought of going back to the
past to fix our present mistakes and faults seems so tempting. Imagine never
losing anything important or never having anyone get angry at you. Time traveling can give us exactly that. It
has been one of the most famous topics when it comes to sci-fi, because it is
so powerful that it can change our destiny.
As seen in the video, a tragic
event sparked a scientist to build a time traveling machine. Although many
attempts to make such machine have already been made before, it has failed
countless times. Nevertheless, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be
possible some day. According to scientists, if you move you're already traveling
through space-time in reference to the usual x, y, and z axes. If you stand
still, you're moving through space time along a different axis. So I don't see
why some day it wouldn't be possible to move in the opposite direction on that
axis. You can also relate this to moving alongside the rotation of the Earth.
Who knows? We could have been
visited by time travelers already. They could have already made changes in our dimension,
yet we become unaware because time is like a river. We're downstream from the
past, so any changes that time travelers have made haven't reached us yet,
because we're moving away from the change at the same rate the change is
approaching us.
I think
it is quite unusual that when we think of time traveling, the dominant thought
is to go back to the past and not really forward to the future. I for one think
that I am not ready to really see what’s in my future. Afterall, the future
would depend on what we do now in the present. So there’s nothing to “forward”
to at all. Nevertheless, whether it is
to go back to the past or to go forward to the future, I’d rather not have the
opportunity. I believe in the values
taught by the past. If I were to go back to change my mistakes, there’s no
guarantee I’ll still learn from my faults. I also believe that only God holds
my future. If I were to receive a glimpse as to how my future would look like,
I’d never depend on it.
