"The Fly". I was very intrigued after seeing the title. I immediately noticed that this is one of the old movies with very visible fake acting. But I found the film very interesting and catchy. I was very focused on the movie since I feel that this is one of those with very inspirational messages, and it does.
After a few seconds, I realized already what it was about. I always had a great intuition and I've read a lot of stories that's why I already predicted the end before the flashback even began.
Seeing a teleportation device in the movie which is not even completely possible right now was truly amazing. I can see that the people during the '50s up to now, hopes to invent this wonderful gadget. The film showed that at that time, they were at the beginning of the continuous and fast-paced changes in our technology. They felt that it was going so fast that they visualized that teleportation devices and maybe even flying cars will be available in the nearest future. And I believe that most of the people though shocked, wanted to have these kinds of developments.
But as everyone can see, it definitely did not have a very good ending. The film really aimed to tell something to everyone. They somehow showed that scientists keep doing these sort of activities without thinking of the dangers of it. Seeing how comfortable the people then are in creating new technological devices that looked impossible to them then, they wanted to remind everyone that science and most of its aims is the act of playing God, even Helene says so.
I believe that the message of the story is right at least in most of it. The last line of François saying that Andre was like an explorer of the truth, says it all. Seeking the truth of the world is the most wonderful thing to do but it is also the most dangerous.
